The manual uses participatory techniques based on a variety of theoretical frameworks to ensure that future trainers are skilled and confident in their abilities to train peer educators and serve as informed resources for their peers.

 

The Standards for Peer Education Programmes

The Standards for Peer Education Programmes is a tool for managers to use to monitor and improve their program activities. Developed during a consultative meeting with peer educators, trainers, project managers, and technical experts from 22 countries, this tool provides a framework of standards for programs, as well as tips and examples from around the world. The tool includes a description of 52 recommended standards under five categories: planning, recruitment and retention, training and supervision, management and oversight, and M & E.
